Pneumonia, again

Charlotte was diagnosed with bronchitis and an ear infection two weeks ago.  Rest, medicine and time.  She seemed like she was feeling better.  We went horseback riding, attended VBS and went swimming with the grandparents.  She had a little bit of a cough but we thought she was doing better.

Saturday, she got out of the pool and seemed a bit run-down.  Then she was "dizzy".  Coughed Saturday night and Sunday.  By Monday morning I had the "worry knot".  Charlotte was miserable.  I managed to get someone in to sit with Ruby and then I took her on into the doctor yesterday afternoon.

She never lifted her head off my shoulder and cried when the doctor came in.  Normally, Charlotte runs to the doctor, especially when it's one of her favorites,to hug her and snatch her stethoscope to use as a microphone.  Yesterday she cried and clung to me.

Pneumonia.  Charlotte was able to move very little air on her right side.  We really want to try and keep her out of the hospital.  Luckily we've had adequate "on the job-training" with chest p.t., we have a nebulizer and we only live 2 miles from the hospital.  At least it's just one side that's affected.

We'll see the doctor again on Thursday.  We'll know then if she is going to have to be admitted.  The hospital sucks.  I.V.'s and needles, noise, lights - It'll be so much easier on her if she's able to stay comfortable at home.

Plus, Molly, the preschool bunny rabbit, is here and she's proving to be motivating.
