I'm telling you, a sibling is the greatest gift you can give a child.  And one of these days, it will not be such blatant emulation and sweetness.  I'm going to pull up this post to remind the girls how special "sisters" are. 

Charlotte runs through the library atrium in rubber rain boots on the wrong feet. Ruby follows.

Charlotte walks the plank to the turtle sandbox and jumps in. Ruby follows.

Charlotte selects a blue bath fizz tablet to turn the bath water blue. Ruby follows. Then they choose purple.

Charlotte wants to go on a wagon ride to find Leroy and the other neighborhood rescue cats. Ruby follows.

Charlotte picks out a vintage pink, tulle tutu dress with lime green leggings. Ruby follows.

Charlotte swings in the big girl swing, higher, higher! Ruby follows.

Charlotte dances around the kitchen to 'The Little Mermaid', Part of Your World.  Ruby follows.

Charlotte practices saying "Fffffrog' and "EeeYyes"! Ruby follows.

Charlie lays down with Keeper.  Ruby follows.

Charlotte" talks" on the phone to Sally. Ruby follows.

Charlotte eats brownies for breakfast. Ruby follows.

Charlotte finishes the words to "Goodnight Moon".  Ruby follows. 

Charlotte lines up after dance class for a dum-dum sucker reward. Ruby follows.

Charlotte buckles up. Ruby follows.

Charlotte overturns landscape bricks on a worm hunt. Ruby follows.

Charlotte goes on a frog scavenge.  Ruby follows. 

Charlotte cleans up strawberry shortcake and Littlest Pet Shop toys, kind of.  Ruby follows, kind of.

Charlotte straps on her school backpack.  Ruby follows. 

Charlotte pushes her babies in a stroller and tries to make it around the block before getting in trouble.  Ruby follows. 

Charlotte teaches Keeper fancy moves. Ruby follows.

Charlotte asks for a mozzarella string cheese snack. Ruby follows.

Charlotte will jump into the ocean  tomorrow when we arrive at the beach house.  Ruby will follow. 

Sisters.

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child.
