...totally creeps me out and I don't blame Ruby one bit for not wanting to sit in his lap. Actually, I was a little uncomfortable with Charlotte sitting there...
This year, thanks to several reminders, I REMEMBERED the Easter Bunny. We needed something to fill the time between "too hot to play outside time and happy hour for mommy time" - so we settled with getting dressed up "fancy" and going to see the bunny at the mall.
It was one of our most successful mall trips. I brought along the double, eventhough we were trailed everywhere we went by a fine spray of pollen and some old oak leaves. The stoller is always outside and was on the trail at the park last night and this morning (pat on my back).

For some reason, Charlotte considers getting dressed to mean picking out dress-up clothes from her toy bin. I made her change out of the flapper/cowgirl/hula get-up but she cried over wearing something blue like Cindrella. If she couldn't wear the Cinderella dress, she was sure as shells on these seashore going to wear the same color as her heroine. She was appaled, however, when I tried to explain why she shouldn't wear her plastic pumps with the giant rhinestones and I just gave up over the butterfly wings. Once we were loaded into the car with seatbelts Charlotte remembered she forget to put on panties. REPEAT.

It was a cute set-up and both girls were excited to see the big bunny. After a little bit of convincing Ruby climbed out of the stroller to join Charlotte. Big sis ran right up and gave the bunny a hug...Ruby slowly made her way up to him, slapped him on the knee and took a couple steps back. Then she waved and said, 'HEY!'. Charlotte stood between the bunny's legs, examining his mouth, then his chest fur. I just want the whole thing over with because it's beyond creepy. I ask the mask if she can sit in his lap. The head nods. No words. Charlotte says,
'mom, this bunny sure is quiet - he doesn't say much'. To which I calmly reply,
'well honey, now you know bunnies can't talk!'
Mission accomplished. We got the pictures. No one had a melt down, including mommy. We even managed to stroll through the shoes at Dillards. All of mine are officially out of style. Nice.

We strolled up to it and looked. Waylon was, surprisingly, not scared. The pictures were way too expensive. We just grabbed a free dum dum and ran.
